İşte karşımızda “Cannes 2020” filmleri
73. Cannes Film Festivali fiziksel olarak gerçekleşmeyecek. Fakat bu durum, programına aldığı rağbet gören bağımsız filmleri göstermeyeceği anlamına gelmiyor. Nasıl mı? Normal koşullarda salgının hararetlendiği 12-23 Mayıs tarihlerinde yapılması planlanan festivalin seçkisinde yer alan 56 film, Toronto, Deauville, San Sebastian, Sundance ve New York gibi büyük film festivallerinde Cannes 2020 etiketiyle gösterilecek. Hatta San Sebastian Film Festivali’nde gösterilecek Cannes filmleri, festivalin en büyük ödülü olan The Golden Shell için de yarışabilecek.
Viggo Mortensen’ın ilk yönetmenlik deneyimi olan Falling, Wes Anderson’un çok beklenen filmi The French Dispatch, 12 Years a Slave ile Oscar’a layık görülen Steve McQueen’in George Floyd’a ve Black Lives Matter hareketine ithaf ettiği Lover’s Rock ve Mangrove, ilk gösterimi yapılacak filmler arasında. Hangi filmin hangi festivalde gösterileceği henüz belli değil, ama Cannes’ın seçkisinde yer alan bütün isimler açıklandı.
