Sinema dünyasının kalbinin Fransız Rivierası’ndaki küçük bir şehirde attığı, tüm sene konuşacağımız filmlerin ilk kez seyirci karşısına çıktığı o zaman geldi çattı. 14-25 Mayıs’ta düzenlenecek 77. Cannes Film Festivali’nin programı, Festival Başkanı Iris Knobloch ve Genel Delege Thierry Frémaux’nun yer aldığı geleneksel basın toplantısında duyuruldu.

Quentin Dupieux filmi Le deuxième acte / The Second Act’in açılışını yapacağı festivalin bu seneki Ana Yarışma’sında Francis Ford Coppola, Andrea Arnold, David Cronenberg, Yorgos Lanthimos gibi yıldız yönetmenlerin yeni filmleri ilk bakışta dikkat çekiyor. George Miller, Leos Carax ve Noémie Merlant gibilerinin yan bölümlerden el salladığı programda herhangi bir Türkiye yapımı bulunmuyor.

Ana Yarışma jüri başkanlığını Greta Gerwig’in, Belirli Bir Bakış ise Xavier Dolan’ın üstleneceği 77. Cannes Film Festivali’nin resmî seçkisi şu şekilde:
